About the Registry

Welcome fellow vintage auto racing enthusiasts to the Edmunds Midget Registry. This registry is being put together with the support of Don Edmunds and will showcase currently existing midgets designed, engineered and built by and under the direction of master builder Don Edmunds as well as those cars built after he sold Edmunds Autoresearch.

Autoresearch has seen several owners. The business was first sold by Don to Jim Giardina in January 1981 who a few months later sold it to Joe Binter & son Josef Binter in April 1981. Joe Binter then sold the business to Bill Steiner of AutoCraft on May 1985. Bill then sold the business to Bob Crisp (date TBD). Bob Crisp then sold it to the current owner Jeff Wahl (date TBD)

With each passing year these fine racing cars are becoming lost to history. It is our job to promote the search and recovery of each and every car possible. If you know of the existence of a car but are unable to stop possible deterioration please contact me and I will try and put you in touch with someone who can house the car as is or perform a restoration of the car. Personally, "original" is important to me so I am an advocate of keeping certain cars in as is condition and not restoring them.

While certain cars seem to disappear, many others are being found and restored, now more than ever before. So while their exists this momentum within the industry we need to work together as much as possible: sharing old photos, tech info and selling our surplus parts to someone that may need them to complete a car. And as an owner of one of these fine racing cars I know first hand the challenges involved in the restoration and up keep and that was one of the driving forces behind this online registry.

This simple registry was created for the following 4 main reasons:

IMPORTANT: If the car has been restored the "YEAR" will be the year that the car is CURRENTLY restored to. If the car is all original, the "YEAR" will be when the car was built. This will all be clarified within the complete description of the car. Within the description we will also list the year in which it was originally built.

If you know of someone with an Edmunds midget please provide them with a link to this web site and ask them to submit their midget to the registry. Images / history of their car could provide important information to fellow midget owners / restorers.

Thank you for stopping by and we hope you enjoy viewing and learning about these great cars as much as we do.
